Most people do not need another program. They need the right program to keep adapting.

The main problem with generic programs

Generic programs can be useful when everything is going well. The challenge is that training rarely happens under perfect conditions.

Work becomes busier. Family commitments change. An injury begins to interfere. Recovery drops. Competition approaches. Travel disrupts your routine. What felt manageable four weeks ago may no longer be the right training dose today.

You might recognise some of these frustrations:

  • Starting strongly but struggling to maintain momentum
  • Repeating the same exercises without knowing how to progress
  • Managing recurring pain or injury interruptions
  • Trying to fit strength training around sport or endurance training
  • Feeling unsure how hard you should be training
  • Losing structure when work, family or travel becomes busy
  • Wanting accountability without needing fully supervised sessions

The problem is rarely motivation alone. It is having the right structure, progression and support for long enough to create meaningful change.

The right level of support from the beginning

Not every client needs the same degree of coaching. Some people need a focused strength and mobility program. Others require rehabilitation integration, performance planning or support around a demanding sport or endurance schedule.

Your initial assessment helps us recommend the most appropriate starting point based on:

  • Your goals
  • Your training experience
  • Your injury or health considerations
  • The complexity of your current training
  • The amount of ongoing support you need
  • Wanting accountability without needing fully supervised sessions

You will understand the recommended service and cost before beginning ongoing coaching.

More than a generic online program

SEPSA combines Exercise Physiology and human support to help bridge the gap between training hard and developing sustainably. A good program tells you what to do. Good coaching helps determine what you need now, what should change next and how to keep moving forward when the original plan no longer fits.

Not sure where to start?

Not everyone fits neatly into one category, and that’s okay.Take our short pathway quiz and we’ll help point you toward the coaching option that best matches your goals, injury history, and support needs.

Human coaching doesn’t disappear when you leave the clinic

SEPSA OnTheGo is delivered by real coaches with experience across Exercise Physiology, rehabilitation, sports science, strength and conditioning and endurance performance. Your coach understands the reasoning behind your program, reviews how you are responding and helps you make practical decisions when circumstances change. That is what separates ongoing coaching from simply receiving a collection of exercises.
Training with SEPSA over the past two years has helped me achieve more than I ever expected, including multiple gold medals and being named the 2025 Female Masters Track Cyclist of the Year. Their guidance has also supported me through injury recovery and helped me build the strength, skills and confidence to continue progressing as a cyclist. I’ve achieved some fantastic results both on the track and in events such as Amy’s Ride. I’m incredibly grateful for Chris’s expertise, encouragement and ongoing support.

I've trained with SEPSA for several years now and they've guided me through all sorts, including recovery from knee surgeries and pregnancy. I've set and achieved goals I wouldn't have even considered without him (half marathons, triathlons etc) and have always found him to be incredibly professional, adaptable to my personal needs, compassionate, knowledgeable, focused and an all round great people!

I have been absolutely loving using SEPSA OnTheGo for both my off and in-season training! I am so grateful to have a program perfectly tailored to my netball commitments. The team have helped me balance injury prevention, strength, and overall netball fitness. It is honestly the most fun and motivated I have ever felt with training. I always feel so supported through their weekly (and even daily when needed!) check-ins. The Best!! — Alicia (Elite Netballer)

As a football referee, it is crucial to meet the ever increasing speed, endurance and athletic demands of sport. To meet these demands, it has always been essential that I take a holistic approach to training, which has been permitted by the expert guidance of the SEPSA team. During my time working with them, I've been able to transition from state to national level referee.

I trained under Chris and the SEPSA team for my first marathon. The guidance that is backed by Chris' experiences coaching some of Australia’s best athletes and as a physiologist ensures that you’re getting a program that is tailored to your needs. The whole process was a lot easier and less stressful when training with SEPSA onboard as my coach.

FAQs

Common questions we’re asked around referrals.

Can I start online and later attend in person?

Yes. Where practical, online coaching can be supported by in-person assessments or sessions in Adelaide. Your support can evolve as your needs change.

How do I get started?

Select Get Started Today and tell us about your sport, goals and current challenges. We will review your information and guide you towards the most appropriate in-person or online starting point.

How often will my program change?

Programs are updated according to your progress, response, goals and upcoming demands. Changes are made for a reason rather than simply because another week has passed.

How much contact will I have with my coach?

Regular check-ins are a core part of On-The-Go. The exact level of contact depends on your coaching pathway, but you will have ongoing human support rather than being left to manage the program alone.

Do I need to be an athlete?

No. On-The-Go supports athletes and active people with a range of goals. The most important requirement is that you can exercise independently and are willing to engage with the coaching process. Is this just a program delivered through an app?

Can you help if I am injured?

Yes, where online Exercise Physiology is appropriate. We can modify training, integrate rehabilitation and progressively rebuild capacity. If your presentation requires diagnosis or further medical assessment, we will recommend the appropriate referral.

Do I need access to a gym?

Not necessarily. Programs can be developed for a commercial gym, home gym, limited equipment or a combination of environments. Your equipment is discussed before your program is built.

Can this work around my existing sport or endurance program?

Yes. Your strength, mobility or rehabilitation work can be structured around team training, running, cycling, swimming, competition and recovery demands.

What happens if work, family or travel disrupts my training?

That is exactly what ongoing coaching is designed to address. Your coach can help adjust the training dose, priorities or weekly structure so that temporary disruption does not become a complete loss of momentum.
